How did a small art college in Nova Scotia become the epicenter of art education--and to a large extent of the postmimimalist and conceptual art world itself--in the 1960s and 1970s? Like the unorthodox experiments and rich human resources that made Black Mountain College an improbable center of art a generation earlier, the activities and artists at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (aka NSCAD) in the 1970s rede
What does it mean to be an artist at a time when the art world is becoming increasingly fragmented and disconnected--when the most highly valued art objects are seemingly the most abstruse, visually vexing, and conceptually difficult, or may not be physical objects at all? How does the art of today connect with the art of the past? These questions and more inform and enliven the pages of Art Schooled.

For more than 160 years, Moore College of Art & Design, the nation's first and only visual arts college for women, has led the way in educating women for careers in art and design. The first students worked in the textile, wallpaper, and other factories of Philadelphia's industrial boom. The school's in
New in the "100 Ideas that Changed..." series, this book demonstrates how ideas influenced and defined graphic design, and how those ideas have manifested themselves in objects of design. The 100 entries, arranged broadly in chronological order, range from technical (overprinting, rub-on designs, split fountain); to stylistic (swashes on caps, loud typography, and white space); to objects (dust jackets, design handbooks); and methods (paper cut-outs, pixelation).
How much does a degree in Game Art and Design, from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division cost?
I am a sophomore in high school and I’ve known what career I wanted since I was in sixth grade. This year I sent my information in so that I could get information on the school and they said that I had to be a senior in high school to request information. I just want to know what the total cost is so that I could start saving now and looking at possible loan, grants and scholarships that I should get.

This behind-the-scenes look of leading entertaining expert David Tutera working with top students from the Fashion Design program as they assist brides just a few weeks before their wedding day with all of the preparations including the most important component — a couture bridesmaid dress. The participating students, now graduates, were Sara Vigil, a 2011 graduate with a bachelor of fine arts degree in Fashion Design from The Art Institute of California — Inland Empire; Masai Payan (winner), a 2011 graduate of The Art Institute of California — Hollywood with a bachelor of fine arts degree in Fashion Design; and Daniel Magana, a 2011 graduate with a bachelor of fine arts degree in Fashion Design from The Art Institute of California — Orange County. Each produced two designs and presented their garments to a panel of judges, which included the bride and The Art Institute of California — Los Angeles Fashion Academic Director Claude Brown. Is Art Institute California Design College any good?
I am looking into design schools to attend so that I can get a foundation in design (for my GD career). A lot of the good ones require a portfolio (which I don’t have) so I need to find schools that don’t have that as a entry requirement. One of the one’s I found is Art Institute California Design College. Anybody know if this school is any good?
