A liberal arts college with a strong visual art department?
Hello, I’m a high school junior and I’m looking for a liberal arts college with a good visual art department. I’d prefer one that’s not in an isolated setting, but that’s not really important right now. If anyone can aid my search, I’d be much obliged!

What do I do if my school’s administration is trying to downsize the arts department?
My school has been going through problems b/w the arts department and administration. The administration feels that the smaller the department is, the better. However, each department, especially Drama, has strengthened. Drama has almost doubled in participation and we have raised a lot of money. We have our own bank account, so it’s not like the school is paying an arm and a leg to keep Drama afloat. We’ve been told we’re only doing one show next year. This year we did three full shows and a one-act for competition. We have more money in our bank account than we’ve had in years.
The administration’s reasoning behind this is that they “want to raise more money from one show.” This is ridiculous. If we did one show, we wouldn’t raise half the money and we probably wouldn’t be able to afford to do Thespian things and Drama Awards at the end of the year.
I want to save my Drama Dept, which will save all the arts departments at my school, what should I do? I’m a senior next year!

Nathan Peck is one of the co-founders of the Chicago Art Department. He has also taught digital art at Saint Xavier University for the past seven years while composing in a range of media from video to painting to songwriting. Nathan’s oil collage recycles a 1968 Encyclopedia Britannica mixing the obsolete articles with the page numbers, illustrations and page binding.

I would love to work in the art department or ‘props’ in the movies, what kind of degree do I need?
I’ve made masks and props for our local theatre. But I would just love to work on something big. Does everyone have a degree in something or are they just all talented artists?

Is the art department at UCF any good?
I’m a senior in high school and I’m looking at enrolling at UCF next year. I plan on becoming an art major with an emphasis on graphic design. Could anyone tell me if it’s a wise idea for an art major to attend UCF?
