Some cool mesa arts center images:
Miss Amber and Shawn

Miss Amber performs with her student Shawn Comstock at the August 2009 showcase, held at the Mesa Arts Center.
Tim and Cheryl

Taken during the semiannual showcase at the Mesa Arts Center. Cheryl had three partners for this particular dance; the other two, not shown, were Joshua Smith and Sean Emad. All four gave a fine performance.
(Update: At the suggestion of fellow Flickr member cobalt123, I have replaced the original version of this photo, which I mention now because some of the comments below concerned the earlier photo and might seem a little puzzling with regard to this one.)

It works. Caught my eye!
–
Seen on my Flickr home page. (?)
Thanks, Daniel — I’m GLAD it worked, and that it caught your eye! I think the studio crowd will love this one, too; the expression on Tim’s face is what really makes it work!
A nice triangular format with a well balanced contrast. The absence of color tones works well here, too. The fact that the fellow in back is looking at the camera is a bit of a distraction, but the strong expression of the other guy and the movement to the lady’s face are a nice counter-balance.
Thanks for the comment. It probably does help this one just a bit that Sean is slightly out of focus, because in my view, the expression on Tim’s face is what really makes the photo work, and I was focusing on him when I pushed the shutter button.
@cobalt123: Thanks for the suggestions! I have made the changes, as you see here. The composition is slightly different from what you recommended, but it is pretty close, and I hope it still works.
His face is priceless, very well done.
Theresa! How nice to see you again. I note that you have changed your Flickrname, and I hope most of the memories you are creating are good ones. I just took a peek at your photostream and will be making a leisurely visit to it later this weekend; in the meantime, it looks like you are continuing to grow as a photographer. I hope life is treating you well at the moment, and I know I need to do a better job of keeping in touch.
Thanks for the visit, and I’m glad you like this photo!
I like it!
Since you are such a dance expert, Marietta, your comment is especially appreciated!
