They used to be of outstanding reputation.
Do not know if good reputation is deserved by the “separate” schools
Suggest you inquire in Ardmore, OK -

Used to be at Oakland airport -
Was founded in the 1950s -
Used to have good reputation too…

Does not mean they are “good” schools now.
All training depends of good instructors as well.
All pilots licenses are the same.

If I had to train as pilot now in 2010, I would go for the least expensive.
1 hr flight time in an old 152 is worth the same as 1 hr in brand new 182

You should go somewhere near you. If you are looking for a flight school that has accommodations try www.flyaaa.com at Gillespie Field in the San Diego area. If you are looking for a flight school where you can go the furthest on the least amount of money try Golden State Flying Club www.gsfc.com also at Gillespie Field.

Fly Corona will give you the most bang for the buck, they’re super friendly, and are in the perfect airspace and weather location to get your training done efficiently.

They beat that so-called flying club by about 20-25% on prices.

What’s the nearest bus and subway stop to Fung Wah buslines in Boston?
I’m taking the Chinatown bus to Boston, and I’d like to know where the nearest public transportation is,so I can plan my route from there. I want to visit the New England Aquarium, Institute of Contemporary Art, and Fenway Park. I’m utilizing public transportation to do all this in one day.

Because of street blockage problems Fung Wah is no longer allowed to bearth on a Boston Chinatown street, but this is better for you (!!!!) because now it bearths at the central bus terminal at South Station (about 4 blocks from Chinatown). At South Station you can catch the subway.

ICA: Silver Line
Aquarium: Red Line to Orange Line to Blue Line (1 stop each)
Fenway Park: Red Line to Green Line

Actually you can walk it (about 20 – 25 minutes) from South Station to the ICA, and you can walk
it (on a shoreline pedestrian way) from the ICA to the Aquarium. And then you can take the Blue Line to the Green Line to get to Fenway. (But bring a coat and gloves even if the day is otherwise balmy. The ocean is still cold until June and if the wind turns into the east, as it often does on warm spring days, it can cut to the bone. There are days when it is 25 – 30 degrees warmer at Fenway – located 2 1/2 miles inland – than at the ICA on the waterfront).

Hank is correct on the directions, except there’s no reason to use the Blue Line — it’s very close to the Green Line.

But you can’t visit Boston without visiting Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, at least for lunch. Go to the ICA first (Silver Line to Courthouse Station). Then walk to the Aquarium. From the Aquarium, walk to Quincy Market (follow the signs). Eat. At Faneul Hall, look for the T signs to Haymarket of Government Center (depending on your opinion of stairs — Govt Center has ‘em, Haymarket doesn’t). Take the Green Line to Kenmore, you’ll see Fenway from there.

IS THIS TRUE about the art institutes?
I asked this question like 10 minutes ago about the school I want to go to and someone answered this
that the supposly “franchised” art institutes is worthless for profit schools, mostly lacking regional or programmatic accreditation. Don’t waste your money there.

Is this true? And can you please recommend any other photography schools located in Hollywood los Angeles?

Those tech art schools that advertise all over the place are not good options. There are some good art schools, that have good reputations. These are in the LA area:

I believe that the person that said it is correct, personally.

If its one of the Art Institutes run by EDMC (all of them that use the
AI logo), avoid them like a plague. They’re not an art school
employers take seriously. They’re open enrollment, they take ANYONE.
They just want the financial aid from the government that you are
entitled to.

If you ask me, they’re an elaborate corporate scam to funnel as many
Government Pell grants and guaranteed loans out of students as they
can and leave the students with the bill.

They’re like McDonald’s of Art “Colleges”. They’re a chain that is
popping up everywhere. They buy out dying schools, rename them, keep
the accreditation.

They may seem like they would be good, but it is all smoke and
mirrors. Pretty building with pretty computers. Meanwhile, it will
just ruin your life.

The market demand they say they’re meeting is not the demand of the
Job market, its the demand of the students. Students that graduated AI
are struggling to get jobs and have over more than $ 50,000+ or
$ 90,000+ in debt depending on what degree they went for. Degrees that
are worthless in the job market.

Basically, AI is a degree mill. They use bloated success stats and
circle logic to back them up.

They count students working at Toys R Us as in the field. Avoid them
if you want to actually have a decent future.

If you really want to pursue your passion, go to a community college,
study fine art, and then transfer into a state school. It will be
cheaper and the money you save you can buy your own equipment and
STILL have money left over for a better future.

Their job leads are bogus, they go to Monster, Craigslist, and career
builder just like everyone else. Their top employer is HOME DEPOT
(Check their own website) and I guarantee none of those are art jobs.

Don’t make the same mistake my friends and I did. We’ll be paying for
it for the rest of our lives.

If you go with AI you’ll be folding clothes at Target or hawking video
games at Toys R Us for $ 8.25 an hour and struggling to pay $ 90,000+
with bill collectors haunting your every waking moment for the REST OF
YOUR LIFE with no way to stop them because there is no bankruptcy
protection on Student loans.
Please please please make sure you check out these news articles
below. Many are accounts from students, staff, and teachers of AI.
Feel free to check YELP (“Filtered results” as well.)

What you do with this information is your choice, I just want to make
sure you know everything before listening to one of their recruiters
sales pitch. Remember, they’re paid sales people. Not your friend.
College may be expensive but what these guys are pulling is straight
out highway robbery.

And if those news articles aren’t enough, check the news. The
New York Times, Bloomberg, and, CNBC all have a story about the
department of Justice acting on a lawsuit against EDMC for illegally
paying their recruiters.
