Navy: How do I get into arts & photography enlist in the Navy?
Or a reserve?

I want to be able to use the best of my skills for the Navy, I would like to travel around the world to use my experience and to gain experience.

Is this kind of job hard to get in?

What are the pre-cautions or tips into pursuing this career in the Navy?

If not then what can I get out from this? Am I assigned to a ship that travels?

Thx.

Best laptop for an online digital photography student at the Academy of Arts University?
I need to know what would be the best choice for a lap top that meets the online system requirements of the Academy of Arts University (online). I’m going for my Associates Degree in fine arts photography.

Here is a site that gives the requirements…. but I want to know an exact name of a computer….

Is being a good sketch artist a requirement when studying for a fine arts degree in photography?
So I’m a junior in high school, and am very much interested in photography. However, when I see college curriculum for fine arts degrees, although they offer photography specializations, they all start with art 101 – introduction to drawing. I’m very bad at drawing. Should I just choose a different major? I’d hate to do that, I’ve become so impassioned about photography. Any ideas?

Smoke Art – Twirler

Photographing smoke art is one of the most rewarding aspects of home photography. We’ve all seen the wispy strands that float and glide through the air, but it’s not until these trails are frozen in time do we see the true beauty and elegance of their construction.

In many images it’s possible to see a subject within the smoke.

The advantage of smoke art photography is that – compared to water droplets – the patterns take longer to form so it’s easier to judge when to take the shot. It’s when the scene is viewed on the screen that the true diversity and uniqueness of the patterns is realised.

This was processed in Photoshop to highlight the patterns that exist within the formations.

What to do with a double major of Anthropology and Photography/Visual Arts? May 19

What to do with a double major of Anthropology and Photography/Visual Arts?
I’m planning to get a degree in Anthropology and perhaps Photography, Visual Arts, Art and Design, or Art Education? I’m so undecided! I was also wondering where I could go from there, what careers/jobs? Where I could teach if I ended up getting an education degree for my anthropology major? Like, high schools or college? Would I teach Anthropology or something more like Sociology?

Centre for the Arts | Photography by Fernando Guerra May 07

The video tells the story of a day spent at the Centre for the Arts from daybreak to nightfall, demonstrating the building’s permanent effect and the changes that have occurred around it. With this on-site reflection, the concept at the origin of this collection of videos is reinforced. Such a concept argues that time, the structure and its space are the elements that define the photographic act itself and the manner of showing the actual architecture. To look at a work is above all a voluntary act and one of critical selection. Only afterwards, can we actually mover closer and situate ourselves in relation to it. Even if never absolutely domina- ting the view shot, the photographic eye is always and above all the realisation of a particular way of seeing. The photographs of this book are a visible part of a personal register that seeks to be an instrument for understanding reality. From my experience at the Centre for the Arts, I have retained the constant surprise and emo- tion of one who discovers a new work. What remains are the memory of the unexpected angles, the cut of the volumes against the gloaming landscape, the frames resting on the interior light, the strength of the texture and richness of the stone, the confrontations between the opa- que darkness and transparent light of the glass. The lasting sensation is that in some of these images everything seems to have prepared itself to be photographed, as if the Centre for the Arts were waiting for a glance that
