I would major in Art History, but I am horrible at actually drawing/painting etc… and that is a core requirement for that major at the school I want to attend.

Employment will be difficult to find in your field, but it sounds like a lovely course of study. Go with it if you don’t have to incur student loans.
History and a major in Archeology or a specific geographical area may help you gain employment in government or business. Being fluent in an associated language would make you marketable.

Art classes shouldn’t grade you on how well you draw because it can be interpreted in many different ways. So you shouldn’t worry about that one course. A double major is a good option. If you do not want to major in arts administration, education is another possibility that you can look at. My friend double majored in history and education for a career path as a museum curator.

Like the other answer said, it will probably be hard to find work in this field.
However, assuming you did those majors would be very useful. A dream job would be to work at the Smithsonian (for me anyway). Also, at some schools you may not have to take a drawing course to major in Art History. My mother’s best friend went to Longwood and Old Dominion (both in Virginia) and studied in Art History and Therapy. of course, that was years ago. ![]()
